How old do you have to be to purchase Heart & Stroke Lottery tickets?

Participants must be at least 18 years of age. Tickets cannot be ordered in the name of a minor.

Can someone purchase a ticket if they live outside of Ontario of overseas?

You must be physically present in Ontario at the time of ordering Lottery Ticket(s). Ticket(s) must be mailed to an address within Ontario.

How much are Heart & Stroke Lottery tickets?

Heart & Stroke Lottery tickets are $100 each, a 3-pack for $250 and a 5-pack for $375.

How do I order Heart & Stroke Lottery tickets?

There are 3 easy ways to order your lottery ticket(s).

  • Online – Request your Heart & Stroke Lottery ticket(s) online through our SECURE online site at heartandstrokelottery.ca.
  • Phone - Call 1-888-551-1111 (in GTA 416-661-1511)
  • Mail – Fill in the order form on the website or one received in the mail and send it with a cheque made out to:

    Please note that Tickets ordered online are the most cost-efficient for the Foundation.
Are lottery tickets tax deductible?

Lottery tickets are non-tax deductible in accordance with Canada Customs and Revenue Agency policies. You can make a donation in addition to your ticket(s) request and receive a tax receipt for the donation portion of your order if your donation exceeds a minimum of $15.

Why did my online ticket order not go through?

If you are in Ontario and unable to order online, or your order did not go through, please call Customer Service at 1-844-512-1044 (in GTA: 416-977-1307) and we will be pleased to assist you with your order.

When are the Heart & Stroke Lottery tickets on sale?

Tickets are available from March 22, 2021 to June 18, 2021, or while supplies last.

What are the guidelines for purchasing multi-packs?

Guidelines for purchasing multipacks are as follows:

  • Only ONE method of payment.
  • Only ONE mailing address. (Must be in Province of Ontario)
  • Only ONE envelope will be mailed containing all tickets.
  • Up to THREE names may be recorded on a ticket (All tickets must contain the same information). Tickets cannot be purchased in the name of a minor.
My ticket contains a spelling/address error/ I haven’t received my official tickets. What do I do?

If your tickets have been lost; or, have not been received or you wish to make a name or address correction, please contact Customer Service at 1-844-512-1044 (in GTA: 416-977-1307) or by emailing lottery@heartandstroke.ca.

What happens if my payment does not go through?

If for any reason a payment is not processed, the ticket(s) and their respective ticket number(s) will be deemed invalid if payment cannot be verified prior to the start of the draws. Only tickets that have been paid for and/or have been verified as paid for are eligible to be entered for the respective draws.

I have misplaced my Heart & Stroke Lottery ticket, am I still eligible for the draws?

Yes, participants do not need their ticket(s) in hand to be included in the respective draw(s). For all other inquiries please contact Customer Service at 1-844-512-1044 (in GTA: 416-977-1307) or email lottery@heartandstroke.ca

What are the odds of winning in the Heart & Stroke Lottery?

The odds of winning any prize in the Heart & Stroke Lottery are approximately 1 to 2. There are 47,317 prizes available.

What are the Grand Prizes?

There are 7 Grand Prizes this year.

  • GRAND PRIZE #1: 1 Million Dollars
  • GRAND PRIZE #2: 1 Million Dollars
  • GRAND PRIZE #3: 2021 BMW X3 xDrive30e (hybrid) OR 2021 Mercedes GLE 4Matic SUV OR Cash Out value of $80,000.
  • GRAND PRIZE #4: Luxury Backyard Makeover OR Cash Out value of $55,000.

There are also 2 NEW Recreational Prizes:

  • RECREATIONAL PRIZE #1: Fishing Boat Package: 2021 16 Pro Sport SC, Mercury 25 ELPT 4-Stroke, Glide-on Trailer or Cash Out value of $15,000.
  • RECREATIONAL PRIZE #2: Summer Getaways: 5 prizes of $2,000 to spend any way you wish.

What is the Loyalty Prize?

There are fOUR (4) Loyalty Prizes of LG Electronic packages valued at over $6,000 each.

What are the VIP prizes?

There is one (1) VIP Prize of $50,000.

There are also 5,500 Free $100 Classic Lottery tickets.

What is the Early Bird prize?

There is (1) winner of the Vehicle Package, this package includes (1) 2021 Ford F-150 4x4 Supercab and (1) Airstream 16RB Bambi or cash out of $130,000.

What are the Electronic/Merchandise prizes?

There are (801) Electronic/Merchandise prizes* to be awarded are as follows:

  • (1) Samsung 75" 4K UHD HDR QLED Tizen Smart TV + Samsung QLED Soundbar & Subwoofer
  • (500) JBL T700BT Wireless Over-Ear Headphones - Black

*All Electronic/Merchandise prizes are awarded as is with no cash out option and are inclusive of all taxes and freight.

What are the other cash prizes?

There are 31,000 Visa Prepaid card prizes of $25 each. These prizes will be awarded as personalized Visa Prepaid cards.

There are also 10,000 $25 Gift Cards from the following stores to choose from: Shopper Drug Mart, Presidents Choice, Canadian Tire, The Bay and Indigo.

Are lottery winnings taxable?

Lottery winnings are considered a windfall and are not taxable in Canada.

If I win a car can I take the cash instead?

Yes, you may take the cash out option for prizes that indicate cash-out value. Please refer to the rules and regulations for a full list of cash-out values.

Can I win more than once?

Yes, after each winning ticket number is drawn and recorded, it is then returned to the pot and is eligible for all subsequent draws, so it is possible to win more than ONE prize.

How will I know if I have won a prize? When can I expect my prize?

All winners will be notified by mail or telephone within 24 hours after the draw date. Prizes will be delivered within 4-6 weeks of the Winners Notification date. Vehicle prizes may be subjected to longer delivery times.

Where can I find a list of winners?

A searchable winners list will be available online at www.heartandstrokelottery.ca/winners on July 1, 2021. Winners may also be announced on Heart & Stroke Lottery’s social media profiles.

How do I claim my prize?

All winners will be notified by mail, email, and/or telephone. If you have won and have not yet received your letter by August 29, 2021, please contact Customer Service by calling 1-844-512-1044 (in GTA: 416-977-1307) or by emailing lottery@heartandstroke.ca.

How long do I have to claim my prize?

Prize(s) must be claimed no later than six months after the final draw date. Unclaimed prizes will be reported and a charitable allocation to the Foundation will be approved by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

Are prizes donated?

All prizes for the Heart & Stroke Lottery are purchased by the Foundation.

What happens if the Lottery sells prior to the Early Bird Deadline?

* If all tickets for the Classic Lottery are sold before the Early Bird Deadline (June 11, 2021 at 11:59pm), draws for all remaining prizes will be made on June 24, 2021 at approx. 10:00am. The first draw will be for the Early Bird Prize; followed by the electronics, Visa Prepaid cards and the 4 Grand Prizes and 6 Recreational Prizes.

How are the draws conducted?

All draws are conducted at MNP Toronto Office located at 111 Richmond Street West, Suite 300, Toronto, ON, M5H 2G4. Winning tickets will be drawn using Random Number Generator (RNG) software.

How many tickets are available in the Heart & Stroke Lottery?

There are 110,000 tickets available for sale. An additional 5,500 Heart & Stroke Lottery tickets will be drawn as prizes as part of the VIP Bonus Draw. Therefore there are a total of 115,500 Heart & Stroke Lottery tickets.

Who is not eligible to purchase a ticket?

Employees and directors of the Heart and Stroke Foundation, partners and employees of Deloitte LLP and its affiliates, employees of licensed gaming suppliers for this Lottery, and all persons domiciled with any of these individuals, are not eligible to purchase or hold a Lottery ticket.

What is the Heart & Stroke 50/50 Draw?

The 50/50 Draw is another exciting way to WIN BIG! Order a 50/50 Draw ticket for a chance to win a minimum jackpot of $500,000 and help us build the biggest jackpot ever!

How much are 50/50 Draw tickets?

50/50 Lottery tickets are a 5-pack for $25, a 15-pack for $50 and a 25-pack for $75.

Can I order a 50/50 Draw ticket on its own?

No, 50/50 Draw tickets must be ordered in conjunction with a Classic Lottery ticket.

What is the total jackpot in the 50/50 Draw?

The 50/50 Lottery comprises one (1) prize and is an accumulating jackpot. The winner will be awarded half of the total 50/50 Lottery jackpot. Last year our jackpot sum grew to over $2 Million. Therefore the Jackpot received by the winner was over $1,000,000. There is a minimum guaranteed payout amount of $500,000 meaning that if the total jackpot does not reach $1,000,000 you still have a chance to win $500,000.

How do I get updates on jackpot size?

As the 50/50 jackpot grows you can get the most up to date amount at www.heartandstrokelottery.ca.

How many 50/50 Draw tickets are available?

There are an unlimited amount of 50/50 Draw tickets available for purchase therefore the jackpot can keep growing and growing the more tickets that are sold. Don’t hesitate to tell your friends and family to play!

What are the odds of winning the 50/50 Draw?

The odds of winning the 50/50 Draw are dependent on the number of 50/50 Draw tickets sold.

What is the final deadline for ordering 50/50 Draw tickets?

The final 50/50 Draw Deadline to purchase your tickets is Midnight, June 18, 2021.

When and where does the draw take place?

Can I order a Heart & Stroke Lottery ticket multipack, 50/50 multipack and a July Money multipack together?

What is the Heart & Stroke July Money Lottery?

The Heart & Stroke July Money Lottery is another way to win daily cash prizes every day in July 2021 for a total of over 100 chances to win every day.

How much are Heart & Stroke July Money tickets?

Heart & Stroke March Money tickets are 4-pack for $20, 12-pack for $50, 20-pack for $75 and a 35-pack for $125.

What are the July Money Lottery prizes?

Daily Prizes:
There is a total of 31 prizes of $10,000 each to be awarded for daily draws. Daily Visa Prepaid Cards: There will be 100 Prepaid Visa Prepaid Cards awarded daily between July 1 to 31, 2021.

Do I have to purchase a Spring 2021 Heart & Stoke Lottery ticket in order to purchase a July Money ticket?

There is no requirement to order a Heart & Stroke Lottery ticket in order to participate in the July Money Lottery.

Can I purchase July Money Lottery ticket on their own?

Yes, you may order your July Money Lottery tickets on their own.

How many names can I list on a Heart & Stroke July Money Lottery ticket?

Up to three names can be included on a July Money Lottery ticket. Please note that all tickets in a 4-pack, 12-pack, 20-pack or 35-pack must contain the same purchaser information.

What forms of payment is allowed to purchase a July Money ticket?

Please note that only one form of payment is allowed to purchase a July Money Lottery ticket. We accept Cheque, Money Orders, Visa, Mastercard, and Visa Debit to purchase a ticket.

Is this the same as the 12-month Cash Calendar lottery?

The Heart&Stroke Lottery™ Cash Calendar is not the same as the 12-month Calendar Lottery. The 12-month Calendar Lottery was discontinued in 2015.

Can I give the Heart & Stroke July Money Lottery ticket as a gift?

Yes, July Money Lottery tickets make the perfect gift. Please note that it is the responsibility of the ticket purchaser to allocate the winnings. The Foundation is only responsible for communicating with the Ticket Purchaser.

When and where do the draws take place?

All prize draws for the Heart & Stroke Classic Lottery will take place at the MNP Toronto Office located at 111 Richmond Street West, Suite 300, Toronto, ON, M5H 2G4. Prizes will be drawn using Random Number Generator (RNG) software, and winning tickets will be eligible for subsequent draws. Only tickets purchased by 11:59 pm, June 18, 2021 will qualify for the Daily Cash and Daily Visa Prepaid Cards (3,131 Prizes). The draws will take place on June 29, 2021 at approx.10:00am. All winners of the daily Cash prizes and Visa Prepaid Card Prizes will be notified in writing within 2 weeks of the day for which their winning ticket was selected.

Where do the funds raised go?

The net proceeds of our lottery sales support our mission and help fund life-saving research in preeminent teaching hospitals and universities across Ontario. Since its inception, the Lottery has raised over $261 million dollars which has helped fund the work of 450 research teams in hospitals, universities and research institutions in communities across Ontario.
