Henry Tettman talks about his Winter 2026 Heart & Stroke Lottery win: Grand Prize 3, a new Honda CRV.
When Henry got the call that he’d won Grand Prize 3, he was stunned to hear that he would have his choice of a Honda CR-V Hybrid Touring SUV, Jeep Wrangler 4-Door Sport or $45,000 cash. “To be honest, I was kind of numb,” he recalls. “It didn’t hit me until I got off the phone and realized, wow…this is the real deal!”
From disbelief to celebration
His wife Denise remembers the moment vividly: “He walked over to me looking down at his phone and said, ‘I’ve got a bit of good news for us…’ He could barely get the words out. Finally, he said: ‘I won the Heart & Stroke Lottery!’ We still can’t believe it. One ticket. It’s unreal.”
For Henry, buying his first Heart & Stroke Lottery ticket was about more than the chance to win. A long-time supporter, he saw it as a smart way to contribute to lifesaving research and care: “I thought, instead of a donation, why not buy a ticket? It supports a great cause and gives you the opportunity to win too.”
Peace of mind for the road ahead
As recent retirees, the couple say the timing couldn’t have been better. “This win means so much to our family,” says Henry. “It gives the us peace of mind that we’re driving a reliable new vehicle as we start the next chapter of our lives.”
Henry will keep buying tickets: “So many families are drastically affected by heart and stroke. If everyone does a little bit, it adds up to something huge.” For Henry and Denise, the adventures have just begun!
