TICKETS & ORDERING

How old do you have to be to purchase a ticket?

Participants must be at least 18 years of age. Tickets cannot be ordered in the name of a minor. 

Can someone purchase a ticket if they live outside of Ontario or Overseas?

Residents of other countries or provinces must be physically present in Ontario at the time of ordering Lottery Ticket(s).  Ticket(s) must be mailed to an address within Ontario.

HOW DO I ORDER A HEART&STROKE LOTTERY TICKET?

There are 3 easy ways to order your lottery ticket(s).

  • Online – Request your Heart&Stroke Lottery ticket(s) online through our SECURE online site at heartandstrokelottery.ca.
  • Phone - Call 1-888-551-1111 (in GTA 416-661-1511)
  • Mail – Fill in the order form on the website or one received in the mail and send it with a cheque made out to Heart&Stroke lottery PO Box 3000 RPO Steeles West, Toronto, ON M3J 9Z9 Please note that Tickets ordered online are the most cost-efficient for the Foundation.
WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO PURCHASE A TICKET?

Employees and directors of the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Miratel Solutions Inc., and all persons domiciled with any of these individuals, are not eligible to purchase or hold a Lottery ticket.

How do I order my tickets online?

Please go to www.heartandstrokelottery.ca and simply click on the “Order Now” button and you can order your ticket(s) on our SECURE online site.

You will receive an email confirmation of your ticket(s) request within minutes of ordering.  If you need assistance with online ordering please call 1-888-513-2092 (in GTA: 416-650-6211), and we will be pleased to take your order over the phone.

MY ONLINE TICKET ORDER WILL NOT GO THROUGH

It is a Licensing requirement that persons must be physically present in the Province of Ontario to place a ticket order. IP screening is performed during the order process to enforce this restriction. This may cause an error message when processing your order.

If you are in Ontario and unable to order online, please call customer service at 1-888-513-2092 and we will be pleased to assist you with your order. The Heart and Stroke Foundation sincerely thanks you for your support and apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused.

WHEN DO TICKETS GO ON SALE?

Tickets will be available for sale from Oct 23, 2015 until Feb 11, 2016 at midnight (while supplies last).

HOW MANY TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE HEART&STROKE LOTTERY?

There are 129,000 tickets available for sale. An additional 6,400 Heart&Stroke Lottery tickets will be awarded as prizes as part of the Early Bird Draw, for a total of 135,400 Tickets printed.

HOW MUCH DO THE HEART&STROKE STANDARD LOTTERY TICKETS COST?

Tickets are $100 each; a 3-Pack for $250 (a $50 savings); and a 5-Pack for $375 (a $125 savings)

WHAT ARE THE GUIDELINES FOR PURCHASING MULTI-PACKS?

Guidelines for purchasing multipacks are as follows:
Only ONE method of payment.
Only ONE mailing address. (Must be in Province of Ontario)
Only ONE envelope will be mailed containing all tickets.
Up to THREE names may be recorded on a ticket (All  tickets must contain the same information). Tickets cannot be purchased in the name of a minor.

MY TICKET CONTAINS A SPELLING/ADDRESS ERROR. WHAT DO I DO?

If your tickets have been lost; or, have not been received or you wish to make a name or address correction, please contact customer service at 1-888-513-2092 (in GTA: 416-650-6211), or by emailing lottery@hsf.on.ca. Ticket sales are FINAL once draws commence.

I HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED MY TICKETS FOR THE HSF LOTTERY. WHAT DO I DO?

It is the responsibility of the ticket purchaser to ensure they receive their Ticket(s); however, purchasers do not require their tickets in hand in order to be included in the Draws.

If you have not received a ticket(s) within 3 weeks of ordering, please contact customer service by calling 1-888-513-2092 (in GTA: 416-650-6211), or by emailing lottery@hsf.on.ca. Ticket sales are FINAL once draws commence.

CAN I CANCEL MY TICKET(S) AND RECEIVE A REFUND?

Ticket sales are FINAL once draws commence.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY PAYMENT DOES NOT GO THROUGH?

If for any reason a payment is returned, the ticket will be deemed invalid if payment cannot be verified prior to the start of the draws. Only Tickets that have been paid for and/or have been verified as paid for are eligible to be entered for the respective draws.

CAN I MAKE NAME CHANGES OR CORRECTIONS TO MY TICKET ORDER?

Any requests to change the name of any Ticket Holder must be received prior to the draw date for which the ticket is eligible and must be accompanied with the purchaser's Government issued photo ID.

IF I WIN A CAR, CAN I TAKE THE CASH INSTEAD?

Yes, you may take the cash instead. Please refer to the rules and regulations for cash-out values.

WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF WINNING IN THE HEART&STROKE LOTTERY?

The odds of winning any prize in the Heart&Stroke Lottery are approximately 1 in 2. There are 55,441 prizes available.

CAN I WIN MORE THAN ONCE?

After each winning ticket number is drawn and recorded, it is then returned to the drum and is eligible for all subsequent draws, so it is possible to win more than ONE prize.

HOW WILL I KNOW IF I HAVE WON A PRIZE?

If your name is drawn, you will be notified by mail/email or telephone that you are a winner. A searchable winners list will be available online at www.heartandstrokelottery.ca/winners starting April 6, 2016.

HOW DO I CLAIM MY PRIZE?

All winners will be notified by mail, email, and/or telephone. If you have won and have not received your letter by April 20, 2016, please call the Customer Service department. They can be reached by calling 1-888-513-2092 (in GTA: 416-650-6211) or by emailing lottery@hsf.on.ca.

WHEN CAN I EXPECT MY PRIZE?

All Prizes will be delivered within 4-6 weeks of the Winner notification date (April 6, 2016).   Vehicle prizes may be subjected to longer delivery times.

ARE PRIZES DONATED?

We have suppliers who support HSF by providing prizes, which are purchased by the Foundation using the Tender process.

WHEN DO THE DRAWS TAKE PLACE?

The sequence of draws will be as follows:

VIP Prize Draw (1): December 2, 2015 9am;

Early Bonus Prize Draw (1): January 28, 2016 9am;

Early Bird Prize Draws (6401): commencing on February 22, 2016 9am, beginning with the draw for a 2016 Aston Martin V12 OR cash out, followed by 6,400 draws of one free Heart&Stroke Lottery™ ticket;

Remaining Prizes will commence on March 7, 2016 9:00am, beginning with the prize of the lowest retail value and will continue until complete

Grand Prizes (7): March 23, 2016 9am.

HOW ARE THE DRAWS CONDUCTED?

Winning tickets will be drawn under the supervision of Miratel Solutions Inc. After each winning number is drawn and recorded, it will be returned to the drum for inclusion in all subsequent draws. The drum is spun at least 3 times between each draw with the exception of prizes valued at $1000 or less, where the drum will be spun after every 200th draw.

WHO IS MIRATEL SOLUTIONS INC?

In accordance with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario terms and conditions, we are required to work with a fulfillment centre that is a licensed Gaming Supplier. Miratel Solutions Inc. is licensed as a Registered Gaming Supplier with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. Miratel's Gaming Registration Number is: license # 00074291.

Are Lottery tickets tax deductible?

Lottery tickets are NON-TAX DEDUCTIBLE in accordance with Canada Customs and Revenue Agency policies. You CAN make a donation in addition to your ticket(s) request and receive a tax receipt for the donation portion of your order if your donation exceeds a minimum of $15.

Are Lottery winnings taxable?

No. Lottery winnings are considered a windfall and are NOT taxable in Canada.

What is the Heart&Stroke Lottery Licence number?

The Lottery Licence # 7558.

Why are you collecting my mobile phone number?

If you win a prize, we will use your mobile phone number as a means of contacting you should we be unable to reach you via your primary contact number.

What is your privacy policy?

We are committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information. We will use your personal information, which may include your name, e-mail, address, phone number, etc., to administer and oversee the Lottery, including contacting, announcing, and promoting Prize winners. In addition, we may use this information to send you donor-related communications and for tax receipting purposes, where required. Occasionally, we may contact you with mission-related or program-related communications. This Lottery is run in compliance with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (the “Foundation”) privacy policy, which can be found in full at www.heartandstroke.ca/privacy

Does Canada’s Anti-Spam Law (“CASL”) apply to messages sent by registered charities?

Commercial electronic messages sent by or on behalf of a registered charity, such as the Foundation, receive an exemption where the primary purpose of the commercial electronic message is to raise funds for the charity.

50/50

How much are 50/50 tickets?

50/50 Draw tickets are only $10 each; a 5-Pack of tickets for $25 (a $25 savings); or a 15-Pack of tickets for $50 (a $100 savings).

WHY DO I HAVE TO BUY A WINTER 2016 HEART&STROKE LOTTERY TICKET IN ORDER TO PURCHASE A 50/50 TICKET DRAW?

AGCO has mandated that in order to play the 50/50 Draw, you must be in possession of a valid Heart&Stroke Lottery Winter 2016 ticket.

WHAT IS THE TOTAL JACKPOT IN THE 50/50 DRAW?

The minimum payout is $500,000.  The winner of the 50/50 Draw will win the minimum payout or half of the total jackpot as of midnight February 11, 2016. We update the total jackpot regularly on our website at www.heartandstrokelottery.ca.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE JACKPOT AND THE MINIMUM GUARANTEED PAYOUT FOR THE 50/50 DRAW?

The jackpot is the total revenue raised from the sale of 50/50 Draw tickets and the winner of the 50/50 Draw will get half of the total jackpot. The minimum guaranteed payout of $500,000 is the amount we are committed to give to the winner regardless of the revenue generated from the sale of tickets.

WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF WINNING THE 50/50 DRAW?

The odds of winning the 50/50 Draw are dependent on the number of 50/50 Draw tickets sold.

HOW MANY 50/50 DRAW TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE?

There are an unlimited number of 50/50 Draw tickets available for purchase.

I FORGOT TO PURCHASE MY 50/50 DRAW TICKET WHEN I PURCHASED MY HEART&STROKE LOTTERY TICKET. MAY I STILL BUY 50/50 TICKETS?

Yes, you may. You can purchase 50/50 Draw tickets only over the phone by calling Customer Service at 1-888-513-2092 (in GTA 416-650-6211).  In order to do this, we will have to cancel your existing ticket and re-issue a ticket with your Heart&Stroke lottery numbers and 50/50 ticket numbers.

WHAT ARE THE GUIDELINES FOR PURCHASING A MULTI-PACK WITH 50/50 DRAW NUMBERS ON THE SAME TICKET?

50/50 tickets must be ordered in conjunction with your Heart&Stroke Lottery Ticket. The same guidelines for purchasing a Heart&Stroke Lottery™ ticket multi-pack will also apply to a 50/50 Draw ticket(s).

What is the Heart&Stroke Cash Calendar Lottery?

The Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Cash Calendar Lottery is another way to win great prizes, awarded every day in March 2016.

Is this the same as the Calendar Lottery?

The Cash Calendar Lottery is not the same as the Calendar Lottery.  In the Cash Calendar Lottery, prizes are awarded every day in March 2016.  The Heart&Stroke Calendar Lottery offered daily cash prizes to be won throughout the whole year.  The Heart&Stroke Calendar Lottery is not available at this time.

IS THE HEART&STROKE CASH CALENDAR LOTTERY A 12-MONTH CALENDAR?

Your official ticket features a one-month Calendar for March 2016, showing what you can win each day only for that month.

HOW MANY CASH CALENDAR DRAW TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE?

There are 741,000 Cash Calendar Lottery tickets available for purchase.

HOW DO I ORDER A HEAR&STROKE CASH CALENDAR LOTTERY TICKET?

There are 3 easy ways to order your lottery ticket(s). Remember you must be 18 years of age and be physically present in Ontario when ordering a Lottery Ticket.

CASH CALENDAR PRIZES

There are 2,032 prizes (“Prizes”) to be won having a total value of CDN$1,000,000.

There are twenty-seven (27) Daily Prizes of $20,000 cash and four (4) Weekly Prizes of $50,000 cash. There is one (1) Holiday Draw Prize of $10, 000. There are 2,000 prizes of $25 Gift Cards from HBC (Hudson’s Bay). Daily Prizes will be awarded every day in March with the exception of Mondays.

HOW MUCH ARE CASH CALENDAR TICKETS?

Cash Calendar tickets are; 4-Pack of tickets for $20; or a 12-Pack of tickets for $50; and a 20-Pack of tickets for $75.

DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE A WINTER 2016 HEART&STOKE LOTTERY TICKET IN ORDER TO PURCHASE A CASH CALENDAR TICKET?

No, there is no requirement that you order a Heart&Stroke Lottery ticket in order to play the Cash Calendar Lottery.

WHAT ARE THE GUIDELINES REGARDING NUMBER OF NAMES ON A HEART&STROKE CASH CALENDAR LOTTERY TICKET AND PAYMENT TERMS?

All tickets in a 4-pack, 12-pack or 20-pack must contain the same information. Up to three names can be included. Only one form of payment may be used per purchase. Please note that up to 20 ticket numbers will be printed per page.

CAN I GIVE THE HEART&STROKE CASH CALENDAR LOTTERY AS A GIFT?

The Cash Calendar tickets can be gifted by you if you choose at your convenience with a personalized note. It is the responsibility of the ticket holder to allocate the winnings or the tickets as they see fit.

WHEN IS YOUR GIFTING DEADLINE?

To receive Cash Calendar lottery tickets by December 24, 2015, the orders must be received before midnight December 3, 2015.

WHEN DO THE DRAWS TAKE PLACE?

Winning tickets will be drawn under the supervision of Miratel Solutions Inc. and will take place at

200-2501 Steeles Ave W., Toronto, ON. Draws will occur based on the March 2016 Calendar. Draws for the Daily Prizes of $20,000 will take place weekdays beginning March 1, 2016. Prizes falling on weekends or holidays will be drawn on the next business day. Draw scheduled on March 25, 2016 will occur on March 28, 2016. Draws for the Weekly Prizes of $100,000 cash will occur on March 7, 14, 21 and 28. The Holiday Prize Draw will occur on January 7, 2016.

The 2,000 HBC Gift Card Prizes of $25 will be drawn on March 23, 2016 after the Daily Prize draw has occurred.
