When Monica began buying tickets 5 years ago, she did so for those close to her affected by heart issues: “My dad had heart bypass surgery when he was 60 and my grandmother passed away from heart disease in her 70’s.”
Monica was skeptical at first.
Driving home when she got a call from Heart & Stroke Lottery, she remembered a recent call from another lottery: “I got all excited, but they were just trying to sell me tickets – I let it go to voicemail. When the phone rang again, I took the call.”
The boat or the cash?
Hearing she’d won a Grand Prize, Monica pulled over: “The news took my breath away!” As a cottage owner, the idea of a new Legend pontoon boat was tempting: “I decided that feeling more financially stable made more sense… I’m also thinking of taking a trip with my daughter.”
Buying tickets – and encouraging others to do so – simply makes sense: “It’s important to help whenever I can – and so I do!”
