From assumed scam to wonderful news.
Winter 2024 - Grand Prize #4 - $100,000 Helen Stark, Caistor Centre
Helen was on her way out when the phone rang: “We’d been getting spam calls, so I didn’t answer. When my husband Edward’s phone rang, I could hear him “playing along” thinking it was spam, too. Then he asked me for our ticket number. Sure enough, it matched the one the representative quoted – she had to work hard to convince us it was true!”
A donor and lottery supporter for more than two decades, Helen’s dedication to Heart & Stroke reflects family history: “My father, grandfather and Edward’s father passed from heart attacks.”
Of her support, she says: “I love that when you buy a ticket, you know exactly where the money’s going – to help save lives. For us, that’s huge. Along with planning dream trips to the east and west coasts, she says: “I’m also happy that Edward can sit back and watch professionals replace our deck and landscaping, instead of doing it himself!”
